Receptor Trafficking
The dynamic cellular processes governing receptor movement between intracellular compartments and the plasma membrane, including biosynthesis, membrane insertion, endocytosis, recycling, and degradation. Trafficking regulates the number of surface receptors and hence cellular responsiveness. Biased agonists can selectively alter trafficking pathways.
例
- Beta-arrestin-mediated GPCR internalization after agonist stimulation
- GLUT4 transporter trafficking to the membrane in response to insulin
- CFTR trafficking defects corrected by lumacaftor (cystic fibrosis)
