Canakinumab
A monoclonal antibody that blocks interleukin-1 beta, a key mediator of inflammation, used to treat rare autoinflammatory diseases such as systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Still's disease, and certain periodic fever syndromes. It provides targeted immunosuppression without broadly suppressing the immune system. It is given by subcutaneous injection every few weeks to months.
