Polytetrafluoroethylene
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) is a chemically inert synthetic fluoropolymer used in medicine primarily as a biocompatible implant material and injectable bulking agent for urethral sphincter insufficiency and vesicoureteral reflux. As an injectable agent it creates a physical bulking effect at the bladder neck to improve urinary continence, and has been used in various reconstructive surgical applications.
