Streptozocin
This alkylating agent is selectively toxic to the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas, making it particularly useful for treating functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors that secrete excess hormones. It is delivered intravenously and is also used as a chemotherapy agent for other pancreatic and carcinoid tumors.
