Trastuzumab Deruxtecan
This antibody-drug conjugate combines trastuzumab with a chemotherapy payload and is used to treat HER2-positive and certain HER2-low breast cancers and other HER2-expressing cancers. It delivers the chemotherapy directly to cancer cells by using the antibody to seek out HER2-expressing cells, then releasing the toxic drug inside them. A serious lung complication called interstitial lung disease can occur and requires prompt medical attention.
