Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF)
TNFA pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily produced by activated macrophages that plays a central role in systemic inflammation, apoptosis, and immune cell regulation. TNF-alpha signals through TNFR1 (ubiquitous) and TNFR2 (immune cells). Excessive TNF-alpha drives chronic inflammatory diseases, making it a major therapeutic target.
