Amdinocillin Pivoxil
The orally active pivaloyloxymethyl ester prodrug of amdinocillin that is absorbed from the gut and converted to the active antibiotic form in the body. This prodrug formulation allows the otherwise poorly orally absorbed amdinocillin to be taken by mouth for treating urinary tract infections caused by gram-negative bacteria.
