Donanemab
A monoclonal antibody targeting amyloid plaques in the brain, specifically the modified N3pG form of amyloid beta, approved for the treatment of early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease. It works by clearing amyloid plaques that are thought to contribute to neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's. Treatment is associated with amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), a form of brain swelling or microbleeding that requires MRI monitoring.
