Hydrocortisone Butyrate
A butyrate ester of hydrocortisone with greater lipophilicity than the parent compound, used as a moderate-potency topical corticosteroid for inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. This formulation penetrates the skin effectively to deliver anti-inflammatory activity with relatively lower systemic absorption. It is available in cream and ointment formulations for external use.
