Pyridoxine
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a water-soluble vitamin that is converted to its active coenzyme forms pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP) and pyridoxamine-5-phosphate, which serve as essential cofactors for over 100 enzymatic reactions in amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and glycogen catabolism. It is used therapeutically for pyridoxine deficiency states, isoniazid-induced neuropathy, pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy, and nausea of pregnancy.
