Acetophenazine
An older antipsychotic medication from the phenothiazine class that was used to treat schizophrenia and other serious psychiatric conditions by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. It reduces hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking but carries a risk of movement-related side effects known as extrapyramidal symptoms, including tremors and involuntary muscle movements. It has been largely superseded by newer antipsychotic medications with improved tolerability profiles.
