BSEP (BSEP)
BSEPBile Salt Export Pump (gene: ABCB11), an ATP-dependent efflux transporter expressed exclusively on the canalicular membrane of hepatocytes. The primary transporter responsible for biliary excretion of conjugated bile acids, driving bile flow. BSEP inhibition is a major mechanism of drug-induced cholestatic liver injury and is routinely assessed in preclinical hepatotoxicity screening.
