Aminophylline
A combination of theophylline and ethylenediamine that relaxes the smooth muscle of the bronchi and pulmonary blood vessels, used to treat asthma and COPD by opening narrowed airways and stimulating breathing. It also has mild diuretic effects and can treat apnea in premature infants by stimulating the respiratory center in the brain.
