Diethylcarbamazine
An antiparasitic medication used to treat lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis), loiasis, and tropical pulmonary eosinophilia caused by filarial worms. It works by killing the microfilariae stage of the parasites and immobilizing adult worms, making them susceptible to the immune system. Severe reactions can occur when large numbers of parasites are killed rapidly.
