Chlordiazepoxide
A long-acting benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA, producing anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant effects. It is used to treat anxiety disorders and is a first-line agent for the management of alcohol withdrawal syndrome due to its long duration of action. Long-term use can lead to tolerance and physical dependence.

Cơ chế tác dụng
Enhances the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at GABA-A receptors by binding to an allosteric site and increasing the frequency of chloride ion channel opening. This produces anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic, and anticonvulsant effects.
