Tocofersolan
Tocofersolan (TPGS, d-alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate) is a water-soluble form of vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) conjugated to polyethylene glycol via a succinate ester, used to treat vitamin E deficiency in children with congenital chronic cholestasis or hereditary chronic cholestasis where fat-soluble vitamin absorption is severely impaired. Its water-soluble nature allows intestinal absorption independent of bile acids, which are deficient in cholestatic liver disease. It is also used as a pharmaceutical solubilizer and bioavailability enhancer for poorly water-soluble drugs.
