Seratrodast is a thromboxane A2 receptor antagonist used for the treatment of asthma in Japan and some Asian countries, where it reduces bronchoconstriction and airway inflammation mediated by thromboxane A2. By blocking thromboxane A2 prostanoid (TP) receptors on airway smooth muscle and inflammatory cells, it inhibits bronchoconstriction, platelet aggregation, and inflammatory cell recruitment. It provides anti-asthmatic effects without the direct bronchodilatory action of beta-agonists.
