Erlotinib Hydrochloride
Reversible inhibition of the epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase is the pharmacology of erlotinib hydrochloride, which prevents receptor autophosphorylation and thereby interrupts downstream proliferative signalling. Tumours carrying activating EGFR mutations depend on that pathway, and it is in such tumours that the agent slows growth.
