Zinc metallopeptidase central to the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS).
Function
Converts angiotensin I to the potent vasoconstrictor angiotensin II and degrades bradykinin. ACE inhibitors reduce blood pressure and cardioprotect.
